We are happy to announce that Resetting the Table is offering a limited number of highly subsidized programs to support dialogue and learning across political differences in Chicago-area Jewish communities.

Chicago-area Jewish institutions may receive up to two RTT programs, due to the generous support of the Crown Foundation and the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago. Programs may include skill-building workshops, multi-perspective educational classes, dialogue forums with skilled facilitators, story-telling slams, and more (for an overview of RTT’s most common programs and services, click here). Organizations may apply for internal programming or joint programming offered in partnership with other institutions who wish to bring their respective constituencies together. Programs will come at a highly-subsidized cost of $300.

What are the goals of the program?

In the face of an increasingly toxic political environment, this program aims to support Chicago-area Jewish communities to foster healthy and important discussion and learning across divides on Israel and other charged issues. The program will support participating institutions to transform tension, fear and/or avoidance of difficult conversations into direct, respectful exploration and collaboration.

What will participants receive?

Selected organizations will receive:

  • Consultation with RTT experts to craft high-impact, customized programming for their communities
  • RTT’s celebrated programs, led by skilled facilitators and educators
  • Training to support organizations to lead programs themselves, when appropriate

What is expected of participants?

Selected organizations will:

  • Manage all recruitment and publicity for programs, with RTT guidance
  • Supply space, food, and other event costs as needed
  • Pay $300 per program

Which organizations should apply?

Any organizations and/or communities who are eager to build a culture of courageous, constructive dialogue on charged or contentious issues related to Israel in their contexts and need greater support for doing so. Any staff applying to this program should ensure that they have institutional buy-in and support for participation.
