Dr. Jessica Lieberman is a founder of Sela Public Charter School and most recently completed nearly 3 years serving as Director of Israel Studies for Hebrew Public. She has over 15 years of experience in human rights, intercultural exchange, education and international affairs. She has worked for a number of human rights NGOs in the Middle East and the United States and has taught at George Washington University’s Elliot School of International Affairs. She spent 10 years at the U.S. State Department, including as Deputy Director of the Office of Global Programming in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, where she supervised a team of program officers responsible for managing over 100 million dollars in U.S. foreign assistance. Jessica holds a PhD in Political Science from the George Washington University and a M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School. Jessica speaks Hebrew, Spanish and some Arabic and lives with her husband and two children in Takoma, DC.
